Day 051 / 365 - The Fast & The Furious *

#051

I spent the day recovering from the previous night.  No hangover, just one of those days where your body knows the happenings of the night prior.  I had to get my car from Jared's place.  I took Lexi with me as I walked there.  She loves her walks!  Unfortunately, I can't handle walking Lexi & Zeus at the same time, so Zeus stayed with Peter.  Lol.  Apparently, Zeus was just sitting at the top of the stairs after we left.  Peter said he kept crying and punching the door (Zeus has a bad habit of punching the door right before we let them out).  To appease the poor boy, Peter gave him a chew treat.  Spoiled!  I found him happily chewing on his treat once we got back.  Lexi looked so cute in the back of my car.  Haha.  Too bad she shook herself and got fur all over the back :(  I'll have to vacuum it now.

We decided to go watch the new Fast and the Furious movie.  Cyndi said it was pretty good and I've been wanting to watch it, so this was the perfect time.  I used the Fandango codes that I got from a trade I did with someone (I got 4 Fandango codes for 6 sets of coupons) so the movie was FREE!  Free always makes things better!  Haha.  We enjoyed the movie.  I just wish there were more racing scenes.  The first movie was all about cars, but this was more about plot.  I prefer the former.  At least I got to see the better version of my car in action (the Subaru WRX STi).  I forgot to take a photo when we were AT the theater though.  It was surprisingly PACKED!  The photo above is on our way home.  I like the array of colors.

Day 047 / 365 - Spaghetti Dinner & A Movie

#047

I unintentionally fell asleep again before I could post this picture.  Lol.  It happens quite often.  Anywho, I spent a good portion of the day doing website work.  Peter called and asked if I could cook some spaghetti for dinner.  I've never cooked spaghetti before, lol.  BUT  I did it anyway.  We had some leftover Prego sauce in the fridge and a can of diced tomatoes.  I also chopped up some onions (OMG this was the worst!) that made me tear up sooo bad that I was cutting the onions with my eyes closed.  I pretty much did want to cry.  Lol.  I added some bay leaves, salt, pepper, brown sugar, & ground beef.  For the pasta, I added butter & salt.  It was a little sweet, but altogether the spaghetti was a success! Add some Texas Toast garlic bread to that and everything comes together.  I love garlic bread!

After dinner we watched "Twilight" since Peter bought the DVD for me the night prior.  We were not impressed.  Lol.  WTF.  The actors/actresses were horrible.  The special effects were crappy.  The lines were overly cheesy as hell (or maybe the actors sucked on that as well?) and the plot was lackluster.  The movie wasn't bad, but I wouldn't say that it deserved all the hype.  Kinda like Slumdog Millionaire.  WAY TOO OVER HYPED.  I know that the following movies will fill-in the gaps from this first movie, but my standards/expectations will definitely be lower in the next films.  Perhaps I will be impressed then?  Maybe the books will be better.. I need to get on that.

Day 031-37 / 365 - I haven't quite thrown in the towel

Have I mentioned I'm still sick? I haven't given up on this project quite yet ;)

#037   Sunday, March 22, 2009

We were supposed to go to Denver today, but that never came to be.  We've been meaning to go for the past 3 weeks.  Haha.  Anyway, I tried fruitlessly for 4+ hours to sleep.  I just decided to get up.  I wasn't getting much sleep for the past few days anyway so I was kind of used to it.  My coughing spells were just too much and everytime I would *almost* fall asleep, I'd just wake myself up by coughing more.

Peter & I made a run to the grocery store and I bought myself some Extra Strength Mucinex to nuke my cough away.  I also bought Ricola, orange juice, & lemon drops!  Hopefully it will be enough to keep my cough at bay and make it go away soon.  I'm hoping my cold hasn't developed into bronchitis like it did years ago.  I don't think it has though.  This time doesn't nearly hurt as much as before and I've always been one to take a long time to get rid of my cough.

I pretty much stayed up for 24 hours straight yet again (I must've done it 3 times this week!) because I just couldn't sleep.  Yes, I was pretty miserable this week.  Peter was playing video games all day so I suggested we watch a movie.  We watched "Across The Universe" since he got it for me for Christmas.  Uhm.. I can't really tell you what it's about because I was pretty much falling asleep during the movie.  It was a pretty slow storyline and didn't do much for me except make me want to sleep, which I am grateful for!  I think you have to be stoned or high on something to thoroughly enjoy this... As the movie progressed it got weirder and weirder.

This was emotion overload day.  But uh so.. BOYS OVER FLOWERS!!  There were 21 episodes available, each an hour or more long.  I watched every single episode in less than 2 days!  Ahahah.  If you know me really well... it should be known that I get addicted to Asian drama series fairly easily.  As in, I watch it like an addict.  Filipino dramas are the worst because they are months and months long and take DAYS to finish.

Anyway, so about BOF... I am so fricken INLOVE with JiHoo (real name: Kim Hyun Joong)!!  Lol.  I have no idea why.  In any other circumstance, I don't think I would be attracted to him, but I am.  This show is corny as hell & I loves it!  I want JiHoo & JanDi to be together, but I doubt this will happen.  UGH.

There's something about Asian boys in suits, jackets, sweaters, and plain just dressed up and clean-cut looking.  ITS HOTT!  No wonder I love the fact that Peter dresses up for work everyday now :D  Hehe.  Mmmm Korean boys... Yummy.

The photo above is a page out of a photography book Peter got me for our 1 year anniversary/Valentines Day.  It's a collection of photos around the theme of "LOVE."  It's quite fitting actually.

I developed this pattern of falling asleep during the afternoon and waking up at night.  NOT good.  At least when I woke up, Peter said he left some PHO for me to eat :)  I didn't know there was hoisin sauce in the fridge so I just ate it plain.  It was still yummy though and good for my throat!

Being that I slept during the afternoon/night again, I started myself on watching "Boys Before Flowers" or "Boys Over Flowers" whichever title.  Hope recommended it to me and damnit I should not have started watching this show!!  It is like crack cocaine.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I was unable to sleep all night.  Sooo... as a thank you to Peter for taking care of me, I cooked some breakfast for us.  Bacon, eggs, & rice!  The funny thing is, neither of us were hungry.  Haha.  We ended up eating this for a late lunch instead.

I did a bunch of website work that I had to catch up on while I was sick.  It's nice to know that I don't have to leave my house to do work.  Haha.  The mileage on my car is a testament to that fact (~2,500 miles).  The funny thing is, 1/5th of that mileage or possibly even more accumulated during Teri's visit here last month.  I haven't filled my gas tank up since then and I am still at 3/4 of a tank ;)

My handsome Zeus.  I wasn't able to sleep the night before.  Too many things going through my mind.  I haven't been able to sleep much also due to all my coughing spells.  I was able to talk to my best friend though (Hope) and we had a nice long conversation.  We don't talk much, but it's that things always pick up where they left off.  It seems as if you've never even spent that time away from each other.  Overall, it was just nice to catch up and she get advice from my BFF.

St. Patrick's Day.  Unfortunately for me, while others were out celebrating, I spent the night at home all by my lonesome.  I thought it wouldn't be wise to spend the night out again being that I was still sick and nothing seemed to be helping.  I managed to fall asleep in the living room for a good portion of the night and this was my view.

I've been eating some RAW honey in an effort to help bring some soothing relief to my throat.  It helped for a moment, but its effects were not long-term.

Day 016 / 365 -Wal*Mart & The Dark Knight

#016

Attack of the coupons!  Yeah, so in a case of extreme laziness, I didn't post this yesterday!  My bad.  I did take the photo last night though before Peter & I's trip to Wal*mart.  We got a bunch of stuff, a lot of it candy & junk food ;)  Just look at the coupons!  Lol.

FREE:
  • (2) 2 Liters of Dr. Pepper (Diet or Regular)
  • (1) Nabisco Cracker Product up to $4.49
  • (1) Kraft Cheese Product up to $3.99
  • (1) Planters Snack Product up to $4.99
  • (2) Pace Products up to $4.00
  • (1) $1.00 off Campbell Product

Yeah, I love coupons!  Too bad the lady didn't know what the hell she was doing.  She totally entered the coupons wrong and entered their values BEFORE taxes and didn't use the full value of the coupon.  UGH.  Oh well... Peter was already irritated, so we just left.  Not too shabby though.  I wish we planned out going grocery shopping though instead of going spontaneously.  I would've printed out more coupons.  Haha.

After that, we watched "The Dark Knight."  It was my first time watching it and I thought it was pretty good.  I just thought it was really strange watching Heath Ledger in his final performance.  He was a great actor and had so much ahead of him still :(  Ah well, it was a good movie.

Day 015 / 365 -The Duchess & Sixlets

#015

I just finished watching "The Duchess."  I won the DVD from Access Hollywood last month and didn't watch it until now.  I must say, I enjoyed it!  I always find it amazing how women back then were able to live in their husbands shadows and 'do as they say.'  I don't think I could do it!  Haha.

Anyway, today was spent doing the rest of the laundry and folding clothes.  I also ate a bunch of Sixlets.  I LOVE sixlets, but they're not very easy to find for some reason!  I finally found them last week at walmart for $1.00 a bag.  Yay.  I made a deal with Peter and now he has to buy me MORE!  Hehe.  For now, I'm just trying to eat a quick dinner before Peter gets off of work.  He asked me if I wanted to go out for some drinks & I haven't eaten ALL day.  My stomach hates me, so I'm trying to get my fill before going out.

Day 009 / 365 - Dinner & a Movie

#009

OK, I'll admit.. this one is being posted WAY late, 4 hours past the deadline, but I did take this yesterday ;) I blame my lateness on camera-whore syndrome and late night Call of Duty 4 sessions. Yes, camera whore. I have no shame in that.

Anywho, the title pretty much is deceiving. It was more like a movie & a dinner. It was cute because after Peter got off of work he called me and said, "Do you want to go on a date?"  Haha.  We watched Slumdog Millionaire.  I liked it!  Though, I have to admit that I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.  I feel like everyone hyped it up so much that I expected to much and therefore, set myself up for the letdown.  Peter felt the same, but we liked it nonetheless.  Who doesn't love a story of triumph over adversity and undying love?  Haha.

After the movie, we went to Olive Garden for some dinner.  I had the dish pictured above.  I can't remember the name of it, but it was ravioli stuffed with 4 cheeses with shrimp.  I always favor seafood dishes over anything else.  The sauce had a strange tinge to it that I kind of didn't like, but it's still a not bad dish.  I'm actually finishing up the rest of it right now since I'm so hungry.  Probably not a good decision since I'll way up extremely hungry.  Ahh.  That is all.
